The Autumn has come and on the tables of everyone there is one of the sweetest fruits of the year: the fig. What a better time, then, to enjoy it in a version that will agree greedy young and old? The fig, a fruit of Palestinian and Egyptian origin, it is widely distributed throughout the Mediterranean area becoming not only a food to be eaten as fruit, but also it is a perfect ingredient for savory dishes and sweets. Forni David to bring out the richness and flavour of this fruit, has chosen to tell the original recipe of the figs cake. Ingredients:

- 200 gr sugar
- 4 whole eggs
- 150 gr butter
- 400 gr flour
- 1 packet of yeast
- 250 gr. of fresh figs (weighed already peeled)
- 2 apples
- Sliced ​​almonds for garnish


Preparation:

Preheat oven to a temperature of 180 °. Cut the figs of the desired size and take some apart to use as decoration. In a bowl beat the eggs with the sugar and add the butter soften left. Mix the ingredients well by serving a mixer. Everything must be fluffy. In another bowl sift 400 grams of flour with baking powder. Unite now the liquid ingredients to the dry ones and mix well until the mixture is creamy and well blended. Pour the batter into greased and floured cake pan and sprinkle with figs, taking care to press them into the dough. Bake for 40 minutes. Once ready, misshapen and let cool. When the cake has cooled completely, serve with a sprinkling of sliced almonds.
