Napoleon Cake

Forni DAVID for a special day has thought of a cake even more special to honor all fathers with a thought greedy. Thousand layers of pure affection for sweet dads thanks to the "Napoleon cake". A cake really rich became a symbol of Soviet pastry created in 1912, before the Russian Revolution to celebrate precisely the liberation of Moscow from the Napoleonic domination. The Napoleon Cake, composed of many layers of puff pastry is the perfect dessert to celebrate your dad with as many layers of affection and sweet cream. Ingredients

For the pastry:

  • - 1 egg
  • - 125 ml of cold water
  • - 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • - 250 grams of margarine cold
  • - 300 grams of flour

For the filling:

  • - 200 g butter
  • - 1 can (397g) of condensed milk
  • - 200 grams of chopped walnuts

Procedure:

In a glass mix the egg, cold water and lemon juice. Pour margarine in a bowl and add the flour. Cut the margarine into small pieces and mix it with the flour to form a dough sandy. Combine the eggs, water and lemon juice and compacted by hand to create a smooth dough. Form a cylinder and divide it into 9 equal parts from which you will create balls that you will cover with plastic wrap to let rest in refrigerator for at least an hour (preferably overnight). At rest occurred, spread on baking paper balls forming discs of about 22-24cm in diameter that you’ll punch with a fork to prevent from swelling. Bake at 180 ° C for 10-15 minutes until the disks have reached the golden colour. While the discs are still warm, cut out circles using a plate as exact model. Now you can devote to the preparation of the cream. Work the butter to cream until it is soft and fluffy. Add the milk to form a smooth cream. It's time to make the cake. Put a disc of pastry on a plate and stuff it with a little 'cream, add the nuts on the surface and cover with another disk. Proceed in the same way for all the other discs finishing the cake with a final layer of cream.
