Pastry Stars

Forni David to celebrate the Italian Republic festival has decided to tell a recipe that brings the colours of the Italian flag: Pastry Stars. Realize it at home is really simple and it is safe thanks to David Progress Electric Modular Deck Ovens and David World Electric Ovens. The Italian Republic day was founded to commemorate the date of the referendum in which Italians chosed the Republic as a form of government in place of monarchy. An historic ceremony which takes place in Rome and involves the laying of a wreath in tribute to the Unknown Soldier, at the Altar of the Fatherland, by the President of the Republic, and the parade of military forces along the Fori Imperiali. To celebrate this important anniversary with sweetness followe the recipe and prepare the Pastry Stars.

Ingredients:

  • - 300 g flour
  • -100 g of sugar
  • -1 teaspoon of honey
  • -1 tablespoon of strega liqueur
  • -1 egg
  • -1 egg yolk
  • -1cup of fresh cream
  • -2 tablespoons milk
  • -Strawberry jam
  • -Cup - shaped Star
  • -Mint leaves for decoration

Procedure:

    Prepare the pastry by mixing 200g of flour, one egg yolk, sugar and a tablespoon of honey. Knead until all ingredients have been blended. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and store in refrigerator for half an hour . Meanwhile, prepare the strega cream beating eggs with the sugar until it is completely dissolved and add the strega liqueur. Continue to stir and add the flour by sifting. Knead the mixture vigorously with a whisk to avoid lumps. Then melt the whole thing with the cream and put on the fire, you can now add the warmed milk and let the cream thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool. Preheat oven to 200 degrees and in the meantime, with the help of a rolling pin roll out the pastry and forme the stars that serve as decoration. everything and create some discs with which you fill the models to create the mini tarts . Bake for a few minutes and once gold fill with a spoonful of cream. Spread a bit of strawberry jam and lean the stars that you had previously cut. Brush some jam to bright, bake for a few minutes and once the starlets golden your cakes are ready. Let cool and serve the Pastry Stars decorating with a few mint leaves. Now you have the colours of the Italian flag and the beautiful stars to enjoy the Republic day!
